Gesso & Watercolor

I've created a TAG-CARD for the following challenges:
(Since I enjoy creating TAG-CARDs, I wanted to play along, again, with this FUN challenge.)
(I'm falling in love with...Gesso and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink)
(After applying Gesso, I watercolored with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.)
(Virginia always has such FUN challenges.)

The hearts & "love" are clear-embossed, & stacked 4-high for added dimension.
The "you" is white embossed.

Supplies
Stamps:  (SSS)-Tiny Tags
Dies:  (SSS)-Tic-Tac-Toe Hearts, Small Love You; (PTI)-Tag Sale #7
Ink:  Picked Raspberry DI
Other:  Gesso, Clear & White Embossing Powder, Hemp Cord, Button, Foam Adhesive

Happy Crafting!
Thanks for your visit.

Beautiful. Love the bright pink together with the black.

Did you use a brush to apply the gesso.

Have a lovely weekend!
Hugs for you/Gunilla

Hmm....love how the gesso and raspeberry turned out, Martha!

Gunilla, to answer your question about Gesso, I usually just spread it with my fingers, a spatula-type tool, or an old credit card. I hope that helps.

WOW, this is beautiful, Martha!!! I really like this idea of the tag-card!!! (think I should give it a try sometime) I love the bright pink with the B&W and I absolutely love twine bows. The button is the perfect finishing touch!!! Lovely - like it a LOT!!!

I can certainly see why you've fallen in love with Gesso and Picked Raspberry! I'm quite enamored with your tag, too! That background texture you achieved is incredible and I love how the different shades of pink play against the bold black and white elements. You've incorporated so many patterns and textures here and I think the end result is amazing. You've certainly inspired me with this tag and I'm so glad you shared it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

I just love every single one of your tags Martha! You really have a signature style, in my books anyway!
Tell me, did you let the Gesso dry first and then watercolour over it?

Martha said...

Brenda, thanks for your sweet comment. Yes, I allow the Gesso to dry first before doing the watercoloring.
