Using Gesso With A Stencil

We've had some beautiful days in my part of the USA.

I used Gesso with the Tim Holtz-Dot Fade stencil to make this top-folding TAG-CARD.
(I really enjoy making Tag-Cards.)
It was difficult to photograph the shimmer on the sunflower & the "Sunshine" in the sentiment.

I'm playing along with the following challenges:

Stamps:  (PTI)-Simple Sunflower
Dies:  (PTI)-Tag Sale #7, Simple Sunflower, Rickrack Border; (Spellbinders)-Labels Trio
Stencil:  (TH)-Dot Fade
Ink:  VersaMark, Distress Inks, Archival Ink
Other:  Gesso, Clear Embossing Powder, Gelly Roll Pen, Hemp Cord, Twill Tape, Foam Tape

PTI-March 2014 Blog Hop-High Gloss

The theme for the PTI-March 2014-Blog Hop is:  High Gloss.
I clear-embossed the sentiment die-cut, & used Glossy Accents on the heart.
For added dimension, the white panel is popped up with foam adhesive.

I am also playing along with Betsy's, PTI-Make It Monday #157: DIY Cover Plates.
To create the background, I used the following:
Bubble Talk Die Collection
2009 Bitty Dot Basics Patterned Paper Collection

Watercoloring - TAG-CARD

I stamped the Hero Arts-Post Card stamp twice, to create a top-folding TAG-CARD.
These were the steps I took to create the watercolored panel:
  • covered a book page with gesso
  • used reinkers & water to do the watercoloring
  • splattered watered-down Black Soot-Distress Ink
  • splattered watered-down black acrylic paint (for a more intense black)
  • splattered watered-down (Golden Acrylics)-Iridescent Gold (Fine)
(It was difficult to photograph the gold splatters.)

I'm playing along with the following challenges:

All stamps are by Hero Arts, & the sentiment die is by Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for your visit.

I gessoed a page from a book, embossed the sentiment & tree with white embossing powder,
and then watercolored the background.

PTI-February 2014 Blog Hop-Sweet Spring

I'm playing along with the PTI-February 2014 Blog Hop.
The theme this month is Sweet Spring.

In my part of the USA, the start of Spring,
always brings on an absolutely beautiful display of flowers.
The pink blooms always take my breath away.

I've used the new PTI-Garden Grace set to make a Tag-Card, my favorite to create.
(This Tag-Card opens like a top-folding card, for a handwritten message.)

Stamps:  (PTI)-Garden Grace, Tag-Its #12
Distress Inks:  Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Crushed Olive
(PTI)-Dies:  Tag Sale #7, Rounded Labels Collection
Other:  Stickles, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Button, Seam-Binding, Foam Mounting Tape
