DOTS & Embossing

The polka dots are clear-embossed.

The "happy" is gold-embossed, & the "birthday" is white-embossed.

Using Patterned Paper

When I saw Virginia's View Challenge #4, I knew I had to play along.

Virginia has asked us to create a Tag or a Scrapling, & incorporate a recycled item.

If you have visited my blog or my Flickr Photostream, you know that I love making Tags & Tag-Cards.

And, what a great opportunity to use up some of my patterned paper scraps.

Gesso, Paints, Stencil (ICAD #6)

This ICAD turned out so differently than originally planned.

It was fun playing around with inks, gesso, and acrylic paints.

To create the background:

Two images, cut from a Dillard's newspaper flyer, were adhered

Distress inks & gesso were used with the Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil

Circles were stamped in Black with a recycled foam tape ring

Blue & white lines were stamped with a recycled plastic card

ICAD 2014 (#1)

I'm playing along with Tammy's Index-Card-A-Day:  ICAD-2014 Challenge, that began June 1.

It's something a little different for me, and it provides me an opportunity to just simply "play".

To create my ICAD, I used gesso, various distress inks for watercoloring, and clear embossing powder.

I've used the darling Chickadees (Technique Tuesday) stamp set, that I recently purchased.

I'm also playing along with the Simon Says Monday Challenge-Paint.

DIY Notebook

What a FUN tutorial by Erin, for the PTI-Make It Monday #167-DIY Notebooks.

I enjoyed looking through my stamp sets & dies, to decide what I would use.

To make the covers & all the pages uniform in size, I used the "Monthly Moments: Mini Journal Card Die".

The front & back covers are cut from the "PTI-Coasters."

(I like the sturdiness they provide.)

I used the fun "On The Farm" stamp & die set.

Watercolored Background Stamping

After seeing so many lovely cards based on the Watercolor For Card Makers Online Class.

I decided I had to sign up.

It is so worthwhile, and filled with lots of wonderful inspiration!

I was inspired to create my card, based on Debby Hughes' lovely creations from Day 2.

The sentiment is die cut 3 times for dimension & also clear-embossed.
The bottom black panel is dry embossed.
